OUR EMPLOYEE FORUM
During 2020, in the midst of the global pandemic, we launched our Employee Forum. Whilst so much was changing in the world, we felt it was also time to instigate change within our business with the help of our amazing employees.
People nominations were received from our Retail, Support Office and Customer Service teams, meaning most project groups have representation from all areas of the business. This helps to ensure that decisions have the desired outcomes for all our employees, across all sections of the business.
The project groups are split into:
- Sustainability
- Diversity, Inclusion and Belonging
- Charities and Charitable Position
- Space NK Values and Behaviours
The work that the Employee Forum representatives have achieved so far has been outstanding. We have launched our first ever Culture Survey which will provide the foundations for our new Values and Behaviour Commitment, launching in 2021. We have created new charity partnerships and embarked on exciting sustainability initiatives, while continuing to embed a diverse and inclusive culture. Watch this space for more fantastic change from our forum members.

Our Recruitment Process
-
We have a range of opportunities available at Space NK. While some may require beauty or retail experience, we are open to understanding individuals’ skills and experiences may match vacancies in a more creative way, so therefore this isn’t necessarily always a criteria. If it is, we will detail this within the job description.

The recruiting manager who invites you for interview will give you all the details that you need, and you will receive a confirmation email afterwards confirming your interview. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to ask ahead of the interview. We would encourage you to ask any questions that help you feel prepared and comfortable prior to your interview.
As part of your application for a position at Space NK, we would like to assure you that your application will be screened inclusively, and if you are invited to an interview, this is for us to assess your skillset, suitability for the role and future potential. It is also an opportunity for you to learn more about the role, our business and meet potential colleagues should you be successful in your application.
Whilst we want to ensure that personal values and behaviours align to ours (see our Values and Behaviours for further information) we are also aware that recruiting individuals with differing opinions, experience and knowledge can add richness and diversity to our teams and the business.
Our interview process varies depending on the role you are applying for; you may be required to do some preparation in advance, and you may be required to attend more than one interview.
Regardless of which role you are invited to interview for, if you have any questions at all, please just ask us.
Support Office:
If you have applied for a role based in our Support Office, you will either be invited to attend the interview in person at our office or virtually. Occasionally we conduct interviews offsite, in this case we will provide full directions in correspondence.
We have a smart/casual dress code in our office, so please wear something you are comfortable in, that represents you.
Distribution Centre (DC):
If you have applied for a role based in our Distribution Centre (DC), you will either be invited to attend the interview in person at the DC, at the Support Office or virtually. Occasionally we conduct interviews offsite, in this case we will provide full directions in correspondence.
We have a casual dress code in our DC, so please wear something you are comfortable in, that represents you. Footwear at the DC is important for Health & Safety reasons so please ensure you wear fully covered footwear if you are undertaking a trial as part of your interview.
Stores:
If you have applied for a role based at one of our amazing store locations, you will be invited to attend the interview in person at the store, a different store, at our Support Office or virtually. Occasionally we conduct interviews offsite, in this case we will provide full directions in correspondence.
When attending an in-store interview, as you may be required to complete a shop-floor trial we would ask that you come dressed to the interview in dark clothing, something that you are comfortable in and that represents you so that you look like one of the team and customers are able to identify you easily. The recruiting manager will be able to provide you with details of our Personal Presentation Guidelines.
You may be required to undertake some prep work (depending on the role) but please don’t worry; if this is required you will be told in advance when the interview is being arranged and you will have enough time to prepare. Once again, if you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to get in touch.
Good luck!

We must ensure that all employees have the right to live and work in the UK. As a result, we need to carry out checks on candidates during the interview process. We will ask you to present a document that validates you have the right to live and work in the UK, for example, a UK passport, Valid Visa, Resident Permit, Settled/Pre settled status documentation. We ask that this is bought it at interview stage. Should you be offered a position with us, we will then take a photocopy of the right to work documentation, and this will sit on your HR file as evidence that you have the right to work in the UK.
